Stories of Women in STEM

One year ago, in July of 2020, I started this blog. It is hard to believe that a full year has passed. I have learned about an innumerable amount of astounding women in STEM, and I hope that this blog has helped you learn as well. There are so many more women whose stories are yet to be told and admired, and I will continue to research, write, and shine some light on their stories.

You belong and deserve to be wherever you set your mind to.

Through reading about incredible, ground-breaking women and about the ways to fight against the discrimination still existent in the institutions of our society, I know I have gained an immense amount of confidence and assurance that I belong in a STEM field and that I can defend myself if anyone does try to say that I do not. It is my hope that my blog posts have also helped you obtain that feeling and pursue a career in STEM if that is your passion. You belong and deserve to be wherever you set your mind to. Do not let anyone or any pre-existing notions ever prevent you from following your dreams.

Currently, a lot of us enjoy listening to content, whether through podcasts, empowering music, Ted Talks, or whatever may inspire us. By taking out just a few minutes each day to take in the amazing accomplishments of women throughout history, we can feel assured that we can achieve anything we dream and work for. Thus, I wanted to share this link to the women in stem archives that the Obama White House created: https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/women-in-stem. From Ana Roqué de Duprey, a Puerto Rican astronomer and educator, to Edith Clarke, a pioneering electrical engineer, I encourage you to take out a few minutes each day to read and listen to their stories.

Thank you for all the support, and I hope you continue to read and enjoy my blog posts!
